Should I just return my Dell Studio Slim computer?

I tried calling Dell Technical Support to help me with my computer. I’ve set everything up correctly & all the lights are on & cables are connected. It’s the moniter, everytime I turn it on, it says AUTO DETECT then ENTERING POWER SAVE MODE. Then the light on the moniter turns back to an amber color. HELP!

You think it is the monitor, do you have a second computer in the house even a laptop..? You can test the monitor by plugging it in to a different computer & see if it works. If the screen works on a different computer, then it could be the cable or the video card in the new computer.

If you use the new cable that came with the monitor to connect it to the second computer & the screen works then that rules out the cable. Then that would leave just the video card in the new computer, That can be a very expensive part take the computer back!
