with bluetooth i have to manually pair it as there is a password on the device.

will a com port auto detect it once i install drivers?

i am using a pc navigation system and i want the gps device to auto detect every startup.

Use one of the USB ports emulated as a ‘com’ port. If on a laptop, use the top usb port as default and use this one everytime. I had to do that on my dell laptop to get the microsoft gps locator to work.
