problems with Belkin N150 router?

1. the wireless signal strength is very weak well witin the specified area. the channel configuration does not work in auto mode (laptop cannot get connected in this mode). also QoS is required to be set to off in reder to be able to connect.
2. the internet conetction does not get re-established on demand (i have set the connection to disconnect after 5 min of inactive period).
