Auto Repair Order Holders

Lienholder holding auto insurance check until work order receieved?

I was recently in an accident and the insurance company issued me a check with my name and lien holders name on it so i took it to the bank(lien holder) and they said they will hold the money in my account until they receive a work order. And my husband told them he already did the repairs which he did. So how am i suppose to give them order? Or what do i do now?
and if the repairs cost less than the check amount what will they do with the extra money?

Unless your husband is a certified body shop, he can’t ‘do’ the repairs. If he did, and they are acceptable to the lien holder, you will have to have it inspected by a body shop and signed off on before the check can be released.
