Auto lease is it smart in my situation?

I am moving to California from Ohio. I have a vehicle, but I can’t afford to have it shipped to California, it would just kill me to do so, when the value on the cars value is depreciating at a rapid rate of speed! So I was thinking to sell my car before I leave for California and lease a car when I arrive. I change cars a lot! So I figured that way I would have a low monthly payment, and have a new car every couple of years.
Tell me your experience with leasing vehicles, and do you think my idea is smart, or the rite decision.
I will be going to California for college, so money would be slim, but my job is transferring to the local mall in California, I will be a part time assistant manager. So I will have a job when I go.
I just need help, and what cars are good to lease?
I also need a very reliable car to transport me to Cali- to Ohio.
I can’t afford to fly all the time!!
