Auto Mechanics!?

here I go again with this wretched Car!
In my 92′ chevy Skylark,I was charged $330.00 ( inc. labor) to have the waterpump replaced,along with the Thermostat and gasket. The cost of the water pump was $70.00. Does $330.00 sound rite ? I don’t know how long it took him, because I left it there over the weekend. He did a couple of other things like put a sealer in the tank because it has a couple of small leaks.
I asked him to drive it off a Cliff for me, but he didn’t! ( lol!!!)

The price isn’t too far off.
If the shop rate is around $100.00 per hour, you can see that if it took him two hours, and added coolant and sealer, along with the thermostat and gasket, he hasn’t unreasonably hurt you.
The shop rate may seem excessive, but consider—
1) Wages
2) Insurance
3) Office help
4) Utilities (Phone, electricity, etc)
5) Equipment
6) State and Federal liabilities
7) Licenses
Etc.
9) Etc.

You see my point. The sad part is that the cars that most need the work are owned by those who can least afford it.
If I had to pay someone else to repair my cars, my wife and I would have to walk. I can’t afford my own labor rate. So mine get repaired after hours and on week-ends.
