How can I find an architecture internship?

I graduated with my BArch, but I was unable to intern while I was in school (I have a family and couldn’t move for 2 months in the summer, then I got pregnant in my last year of school). I am finding it difficult to find a job since I don’t have experience, even though I have a good portfolio and excellent grades. I also have experience working with AutoCAD and REVIT… just not actual internships. The school I graduated from won’t give internship information to non-current students. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If can’t get into an Internship because you are a graduate contact the AIA chapter in your area. They may be able to help with local firms and contacts in your area.
