Whats the catch on the price of replacment bumbers for my truck?

So i need to replace the front and rear bumpers on my chevy silverado 99 new body style truck , and i called this auto parts salvage business called ” pick n Pull” and it is $45.95 for each bumper.( front and back) My question is why are the bumpers so cheap? is this standard for used auto parts because I called a couple other auto part salvage business’ and they were priced $250-350 each. wtf? why such a difference in pricing im really confused. Do business like that use damaged auto parts or just used? maybe its understandable if they were damaged. idk help!

Reg. junkyards sometimes will let you pull the parts, loan you tools if needed, or pull the parts for you.

Pick n pull, pull a part, etc yards does nothing.. You go in, with your own tools, find what you want, take it off, carry it to the check out, pay for it and be on your way.

Out here in GA we have a couple “pull a part” yards. Set up is VERY nice. All gravel yard, cars in numbered rows, all cars are in the computer, you go in, touch screen coumpter look up car you need, print out a list..

Then let guys look through your tool box/bag, pay $1 to get in the yard..

Go down through yard, looking at the numbered rows and your list, find row, walk down that row till you see car your looking for.. Check it for parts you need, if not there move to next one

Cars are all sitting up on welded together junk wheels so you can get under them

They also have wheel barrows up front you can use to haul your tools and parts in..

The way these places make money is buy the old thinking of make alittle money off alot of people rather than making alot of money off few people.

Every time I go to pull a part, theres atleast 40 other people there.

The junkyard pays $50-200 for a car, then sells EVERY little single part off it.. Even at cheap prices, the gross probbly $2,000 off each car
