Is my Nissan totaled?

I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima SE with leather, multi-cd, bluetooth, bose, new tires, electric seats, sun roof, and less than 27,000 miles on it. Woman hit us, I was driving, wife and baby in the back. We are ok except bruised and she takes off. Our Side impact bags deploy. We got her car license, called police. Looks like two doors and back end will need cosmetic replacement (it’s plastic). One of the wreckers said it’s borderline… might be considered totaled by the adjuster. Might not. The car’s 8 months from being paid off. We have full coverage but not auto replacement. Was in perfect absolutely condition and doesn’t look that bad. If these are the only problems, does it sound totaled to you? Thanks.
Our insurer is Allstate and they’ve been really good to us. They vow to go after the criminal (whose license plate we got, and police provided name and address) Monday.

well that sure sucks, I hope you guys are all ok, thank god no permanent life threatening injuries, those air bags are spendy more so than the body damage I looked your car up on www.nada.com this is a price guide clean retail with that low mileage (low mileage added 2,525) to the total, so do your research because you have some things that bump up the price that not all adjustor’s may use, some crap insurance company may try to downplay the fair market value and total it for as cheap as they can screw you out of, so do your homework nada guide has a consumer guide and insurance companies among many others use them a lot. but clean retail is 21500 that’s great and those new tires count, any other repairs, bring it all up, even if they try to blow you off, you have to tough it out and if they make you fight well then so be it, but lets hope for the besl ok?but make sure the adjustor does not try any funny business roughly 70% is 15 grand in damages, insurance companies try not to spend more than seventy percent of market value fixing a damaged car, and the car should still be fixable, lets hope the damages are less than that, be prepared to kindly with force explain that your car is worth 21,500 lets hope you get a good insurance, if the other party has no insurance at least allstate is one of the better companies if you have to go that route, remember something, if an allsate adjuster comes out and tries to whine you are entitled by law to get an independent appraisal, besides an allstate adjuster, and keep in mind that insurance companies typically try to get you to agree to send the check to a body shop, because the shop gives the insurance company 10 percent off. By law, that is your check, you are the damaged party insist they send the check for repairs, directly to you, then you go to a body shop, and get them to take your deductible off the estimate, after all the body shop was giving the insurance 10 percent off. so insisting you get the check is better for YOU NOT INSURANCE COMPANY.
IM HOPING THE CAR IS NOT TOTALED THAT changes the game plan. for now, try to relax, heal up, hold on to the family unit, its in one piece still take care hope this helps you some.
